Born in Los Angeles and raised in Cebu, Ulrika Wagas grew up surrounded by woodcraft, storytelling, and music — influences that now shape her creative and entrepreneurial work. As a second-generation maker, she continues her family’s legacy through Wagas Ukuleles, blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary storytelling to connect Filipino artistry with a global audience.
Her work spans business, media, and design — from managing creative direction and marketing for Wagas Ukuleles and Wagas Crafts, to directing photo and video projects, and developing brand strategy with her team. Outside the workshop, Ulrika explores the intersection of craft and research as an MBA student at the University of the Philippines, driven by curiosity about how creativity fuels sustainable business.
Ulrika’s journey began in journalism, where she earned awards from ABS-CBN, the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas, and graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Mass Communication. She continues to merge those roots in storytelling with her entrepreneurial path — always guided by a love for people, culture, and meaningful creation.
She is currently based in California.
